This holiday apartment was originally a farmhouse barn, used for grains storage. The characteristic barn structure is still visible from the typical high ceiling with a large skylight, that makes this apartment very bright. It is a large two-levels studio of 70 sqm: the mezzanine hosts the bedroom and the ground floor the living room, the kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub. A small balcony overlooks the garden; very quiet. Suggested for a romantic stay.

Where today stays the garden of the Guicciardini Farm, once there was the “Aia”: a farmyard generally located in front of the farm main entrance, it was the vital centre of open-air rural life. The farmyard was paved and usually hosted one or more trees to ensure shade in the summer. Here, after the harvest, the grain haystacks were collected and threshed, the tools and animals were assembled for the working day. In the farmyard the families organized dances and country parties and entertained themselves in the so-called "veglia": evenings of rural sociality, following the cycle of the seasons.A part of the farmyard old pavement is still visible at the Guicciardini Farm; when the farm was abandoned and then restored for a residential use, the courtyard was transformed into a garden, where one can still admire the huge linden, the old lemon trees and the cypresses. The peculiarity of this garden is that it is enclosed by the ancient walls of the city of San Gimignano and its entrance’s a large 19th-century gate
